Title slide: Digital Confidence, Take Control of Your Business Online. Kylie Wilson, Founder, KYR Websites. 2026 South Central PA Women in Business Conference, October 20, 2026.
Three questions: Which company is your domain registered with? When does it renew? Who has administrator access to your website right now?
Those are not technical questions. They are records questions, like knowing where your insurance policy is or who still has a key to the building.
It stays invisible until the day it matters: a renewal lapses, someone moves on, or you hire someone new and nobody knows where your site lives.
Today: what you actually own, who has access to it, and what to fix first.
The six systems: domain name, hosting, website platform, business email, Google Business Profile, and social accounts.
The most important line on your worksheet: lose your domain, and you lose your email at the same moment.
A warning about Facebook: a business page hangs off a person's personal profile, so whoever holds it owns it in practice.
Working the worksheet, three ground rules: do not try to finish, no passwords, and make it messy.
No password needed: where to find answers about your domain, Google profile, and Facebook page without logging in.
Your turn: fill in as much of the worksheet as you can.
When someone else holds the keys: four situations, from usually recoverable to a hard stop.
The vendor who stopped answering: your domain, hosting, and Google profile are more recoverable than people assume.
Thirty seconds of prevention: add a second person you trust with full access to your Facebook page, today.
The words to use: a neutral reason, specific facts, and one clear request, sent in writing.
Your next thirty days, start with three: lock down your domain, add a second trusted owner, and remove old access.
One habit: 20 minutes once a year with this worksheet, on a recurring calendar reminder.
Digital confidence is knowing what you own, knowing who has the keys, and knowing who to call.
Thank you. Kylie Wilson, Founder, KYR Websites. Phone 717.729.8316, kylie@kyrwebsites.com, kyrwebsites.com.

Asking a vendor for access

Copy and paste this, fill in the brackets, and send it in writing. Keep the date you sent it.

Hi [name], we are updating our internal records. Could you confirm which registrar holds our domain, which company hosts the site, and which accounts you currently have access to? We would also like to add [your name and email] as an administrator on the website and as an owner on our Google Business Profile. Thank you for your help with this.
